2026 Ministry Award

Congratulations to Anastasia (Stacey) Kazarian, who received the 2026 Clergy Laity Award on June 14th, 2026, on behalf of Saint George Greek Orthodox Church.

What ingredients are necessary for a good steward? Faith, love, and generosity.

Since moving to Cape Cod with her late husband George in 2002, Stacey has demonstrated these qualities in abundance.

A retired RN who spent the last 25 years of her career as a care manager with Tufts Health Plan, Stacey’s first entrée into stewardship was as a Sunday School teacher, a role she enjoyed at her previous church in Worcester, St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral.

For the past quarter century, Stacey’s greatest lesson has not been delivered in the classroom, but in the countless hours she has selflessly devoted to St. George — as a former Secretary of the Parish Council; a volunteer at the St. George Greek Festival (look for her at the baked goods table this summer); a member of the Daughters of Penelope; and as the current President of the St. Katherine’s Ladies Philoptochos Society.

She has baked Vasilopita; managed the decorations of the Epitaphio for Good Friday as well as for the Dormition of the Theotokos; and spent countless hours in the church kitchen preparing food for multiple St. Katherine’s bake sales and the annual Greek Festival.

At most church meetings, you can see her carrying an armload of tasty treats — chocolate peanut bars (Fr. Timothy’s favorite), lemon bars, baklava, and Lenten sweet potato oatmeal cookies — that showcase her passion for cooking and her love for nourishing the St. George community.

Stacey has extended that love to homebound parishioners, visiting them throughout the year, offering them comfort, care, and connection. For parishioners that don’t have a car, it should come as no surprise that Stacey is among the first to volunteer to bring them to church.

When much of society shut down during the pandemic, Stacey was the one who drove the Psaltis to and from church, faithfully sitting in her pew during services.

2 Corinthians 9:7 says, “for God loves a cheerful giver,” embodying the spirit with which Stacey has served our church — joyfully, with all her heart.
